The Rise and Fall

Fall is almost here. How do you feel about that? What's your favorite and least favorite thing about the season?

I *heart* fall! The humidity is lower (except yesterday it wasn't) and it's not quite as blazing hot. There are more colors around with the leaves changing, and all those piles of leaves just invite jumping and throwing. Football season has begun. School's back in session (and no one is totally bored yet).

Having said that, my allergies are ripe this time of year, and I pray for a frost (followed by another burst of warm weather), and I always say I'm going to plant bulbs but never get around to it. Maybe this year?

What's your favorite color of fall leaves?

I love when red maples start turning: sort of a purpley-red. And there's a special place in my heart for aspen-yellow.

Do you find it more difficult to get up in the morning as the sun comes up later this time of year?

It gets much worse in the winter, beginning about the time we mess around with our clocks. Now it's not so bad.

When is the last time you've taken a fall or spill and what happened?

I fell, hard, in March on a concrete floor. My right knee took the brunt of the fall and I had a killer bruise for a month. The external damage has healed, but it makes very interesting noises now when I go upstairs. I actually out-crick/crack my former footballer husband (in that area at least)!
