1. What is your absolute favorite piece of furniture you have and why?

Probably our dining room/kitchen table, rebuilt by my dad for our wedding gift from scrap teak he found in a dumpster at a Danish furniture store.

2. What would be your design style? Asian, Americana, country, contemporary, etc.?

I like strong, comfortable furniture that's built to last, with few frills and furbelows. Just very simple, Wright or Mission style stuff.

3. Are you of the spartan furnishing philosophy, or the more the better?

The more you have, the more there is to dust. Therefore, spartan is good.

4. My two favorite rooms are the living room and the bedroom in any house. What are your two favorite rooms?

Me too. I like the kitchen as well (all that food!), and any room with a big bathtub is a good room, but for simple comfort and functionality, can't beat the living room and bedroom.

5. If money were no object and you were to redecorate, pick one room in your house and describe its decor.

I'd like to do our bedroom; the main reason we haven't done it is that we don't know what to do. I'd like it to be light, summer-cottage feeling, but not frilly or too over the top since this is NOT a cottage. But I like the light blue/white/teal palette, and we have a lot of water/lighthouse stuff going on both in the room and the master bath. I just need some ideas for coordinating it all.
