Five on Friday

Chicken Soup for the Friday Fiver's Soul

1. How often do you usually get sick each year?
Take-a-sick-day sick: probably only two or three times a year. But I always end up with something in the winter that seems to hang around for weeks and drags the life right out of me.
2. Which is worse to catch: a cold or the flu?
Flu, because of the whole fever thing. However, whichever you have is the worst ever when you're in the midst of it!
3. Do you plan to get a flu shot? Why or why not?
I usually do, unless I get sick around the time they're given. I haven't had a bad case of flu for several years, and I work with the public a lot so am constantly assaulted by germs.
4. What are your favorite home remedies for cold and flu symptoms?
Sleep. Interspersed with soup breaks, or jello breaks, and/or bad TV breaks. And as much water or citrus juice as I can stand.
5. When you're sick do you take "sick days" or do you force yourself to continue working?
I'm trying to do better about not infecting coworkers when I'm sick, so I stay home if I'm feeling really virulent. I figure, though, if I'm bored at home, I probably should get back to work....
