1. Do you recycle?
Yes. Paper, plastic, metal.2. Do you do anything to reduce the amount of waste you and your family produces? How about reducing the amount of resources you use?
This may be where we fall down. Beast likes his toys, and likes them to work. And it's usually (financially) cheaper to just replace what broke than to fix it.3. Do you reuse anything to save money or waste?
We reuse a lot of plastic bags of every size and shape for a variety of things.4. What is your ecological footprint? Do you think it has changed for the better in the last year?
5. What kind of impact do you feel the "reduce, reuse, recycle" philosphy has on our lives, if any?FOOD 5.2 AcresDamn. I suck. It's probably gotten worse...sigh. But, hey, I'm so not giving up my house!
MOBILITY 0.5 Acres
SHELTER 8.4 Acres
GOODS/SERVICES 8.2 Acres
TOTAL FOOTPRINT 22 Acres
IN COMPARISON, THE AVERAGE ECOLOGICAL FOOTPRINT IN YOUR COUNTRY IS 24 ACRES PER PERSON.
WORLDWIDE, THERE EXIST 4.5 BIOLOGICALLY PRODUCTIVE ACRES PER PERSON.
IF EVERYONE LIVED LIKE YOU, WE WOULD NEED 5 PLANETS.
I think people think about it, but not nearly enough. We know a lot of people who don't recycle anything at all. It's frustrating.
