Back To School Blues

1. When you were a kid, do you do back-to-school shopping?

Surprisingly--if you know me now!--I did. Mom and I rarely agreed on what we were looking for, but I enjoyed having the opportunity to try on new stuff, and I really love the feeling of wearing something new. Still.

2. Do you still peruse the back-to-school aisles now that you're grown up?

I have the excuse of having to shop for my son. He probably didn't "need" a lot of clothes, but we shopped anyway. And I L O V E looking at school supplies! Wheeee!

3. What back-to-school item did you just have to have, only later to find out it wasn't as useful as you thought?

The only things that come to mind are pencil cases/boxes, and spiral notebooks. Man, I really hate spirals!

4. What is your favorite TV show about school?

I can't think of any that were ever close to realistic from my point of view. I always chuckled at the "Hot for Teacher" and "Angel in the Centerfold" videos, though; does that count?

5. What was your favorite and least favorite part of going back to school?

Favorite was seeing my friends after the whole summer having passed, and all the new stuff I had to start the year.

Least favorite was seeing all the jerks that I didn't miss over the summer. My current least favorite thing is that I have to start getting up at 5:30 or so every day again, starting next week. ...sigh... I'm also not looking forward to the angst of Sparky having to deal with the jerks at his school.
