Curious as a Cat

Week Number Thirty-Two:

Which of your school teachers had the greatest positive influence on your character?
Hmmm...on my character, not my education? I can't think of too many, actually. I was fortunate enough to have parents who did a lot of what Sparky's school calls "Character Ed." So, all I can think of is Ms. Phillipe, who taught me to edit ruthlessly (not that you can tell online, but I can do it if necessary!). Oh, and of course, Dr. Gerardi, my high school band teacher, who taught me to play through pain/rain/stupidity/etc. and never accept "almost perfect." Mrs. Grubenhoff, my high school Spanish teacher, is the reason I enjoy languages, the reason I know anything useful about antiques, and the reason I trust myself.

Dr. Dukes (how odd to call him that, he's just "Jack") was instrumental in getting me interested in Russia, and in helping me survive the trip. Dr. Sherrick opened my eyes to the reality women face every day.
Think of your best friend: what is the first thing most people would notice about that person?
Jenny: her eyes and her openness.
Amy: her eyes and her intelligence.
Beast: NOT his eyes (hee hee)...his size and his helpfulness.
