1. Do you think you're a good driver? Do you drive defensively or offensively? Why?
After last week's near-disaster, I'm giving myself a helluva lot more credit for being a good driver than I ever have. Having said that, I do think I'm a good driver in most situations. I tend to drive defensively, and expect stupidity from most everyone else on the road. I don't get too bent out of shape about it when it happens, and I'm rarely disappointed in people's abilities to come up with original and outrageous ways of being obnoxious while driving.2. How fast do you normally drive? Do you always go the speed limit, or do you like to speed? Do you believe in the 'flow of traffic' method for speeding?
On the other hand, I have, recently, also pulled my hair into a ponytail and rubber-banded it while going 60 mph down a straight stretch on the way to work...! Must blend in with the Stupids occasionally, right?
I rarely go more than 5 mph over the speed limit. However, if the "flow" is going slower than that, I'm fully capable of dealing with that fact, unlike some people with whom I live. Ahem!3. What do you think of those people who drive while talking on the fone? Do you think it impairs their driving? Why/why not? Do you do it?
Yes, it definitely impairs their driving. And, like most people, I swear at others who are doing it--"Put down the damn phone and fucking DRIVE!!"--but do an abrupt about-face when my phone rings.Bonus Question What's one thing that just drives you absolutly bonkers that people do when their [sic] driving (or how their [sic] driving)?
OK, but I have a headset in the car, and if I know this going to be a long conversation, I will either pull over or ask the person next to me to plug it in so I can use both hands while I talk and drive.
I live on the outskirts of a major metro. People who cut in and out of traffic used to make me crazy. I still don't do that very often, but I have 'evolved' into thinking that people who cruise in the left (fast) lane at 2 mph below the speed limit should be forced into slave-labor camps. I also have become much more impatient about other drivers in general, but I'm nothing compared to (ahem) certain other people with whom I live.
