Booking through Thursday

Booking Through Thursday
  1. Have you read Lord of the Rings?
    Nope.

  2. If so, how many times have you read it? Just once? Or so many you can't count?
    N/A

  3. If not, why not? Not your cup of tea?
I just read The Hobbit about 2 years ago. I'm just not into this kind of story. It's too complicated, and frankly all this adulation kinda turns me off. It's the same reason, really, I'm not interested in Jane Austen: too many people telling me "I should" read it. I don't respond well to being told what to do in areas I can completely control.

So, how often do Jane Austen and J.R.R. Tolkien get compared to one another?

  4. And, while we're on the subject, did you see the Oscar-winning movie(s)? What did you think?
I saw the first movie. As we left the theater, Beast told me if I was freaked out with the battle scenes in this one, I should skip the others. I trust him, so I haven't watched the others. Beast has; he's also read the books a few times.

I have seen an awful lot of the "Making of..." stuff, though, so I know a lot about how stuff was filmed and what it looked like in small chunks.
