Thursday Threesome

Onesome: Variations-- Do you you dress the place (or yourself) up for the July 4th holiday? I've seen plates and napkins and such, but this year one store has red, white and blue string lights for the house! Is that a bit much?
I usually get to the parade or festivities and realize that I've worn khaki and orange or something along those lines.

The only holiday I "dress" the house for is Christmas. I had a phase a few years ago where I started buying shit for the rest of the holidays, and then I came to my senses. Those things haven't been out of storage for years now. I should throw away the pumpkins (for Halloween) and bunnies (for Easter).

On the other hand, if we're hosting a "thing" around holiday time, I usually do nod in the direction of decorated paper plates/cups/napkins.

Twosome: on a-- wing and a prayer: How do you feel about flying? ...or do you prefer ground transport?
After spending over 40 hours in the same van driving hither and yon over the past 8 days...I'm kind of partial to air flight! :-)

But normally, I don't mind driving. Flying has gotten to be a huge PITA, but sometimes it's just a time factor. For instance, it's possible to drive to my mom's, but it will take about 19 hours. Or, I can fly there, which will take a minimum of 9 hours, door-to-door (my door to her door: drive 90 minutes to the airport, arrive a couple of hours early, fly for two hours, wait for connecting flight for an hour or more, fly for another hour, drive an hour to her place). The drive is beautiful and slightly less expensive (gas + meals + hotels); the flight is faster, more annoying and usually more expensive.

Threesome: Theme--The softball for this week: What is your favorite movie theme song or arrangement to listen to?
I don't usually listen to movie themes. The soundtrack from "Pirates of the Caribbean" is good. Most of the movie songs I know are from musicals: Chicago, Fiddler on the Roof, Sound of Music, Wizard of Oz. I'm giving the prize to Fiddler.

Today, at least. I'd bet on that changing if you asked me a different day.
