Saturday 6

Episode 107

1. What new piece of technology have you resisted buying and what would it take for you to change your mind?
I don't have an iPod yet. I'm not sure why: I love music. Just seems a bit...faddy. I dunno; I'm sure I'll end with one sooner or later. I think I'd want one that will download books, not just music, though.

2. If someone was to go through a closet of your old clothes, what clothing style would you find most embarrassing?
I get rid of clothes I don't wear. I have a few outfits from my teen years, primarily saved because my mother made them. I can't fit into them, but I can't throw them away. I also saved my wedding dress (of course) which is a bit over-the-top (and too small again), and the skirt I was baptized in (at age 14); lost the shirt somewhere along the lines.

There really isn't much incriminating in my closet, to be honest. Except disorder.

3. The movie "United 93" opened this week to controversies over whether or not it is too soon or not to deal with the events of September 11th. Do you have any desire to see this movie? Why or why not?
Nope. Pass. Just...no.

4. Take the quiz: How Class Works. Without getting specific about any of the actual results, which category hurts you the most, and which helps you the most?
Compared to my education (professional degree), my pay **sucks**. Some of that it my choice (I work part time) and some of it is just part of the deal in being a librarian. It's interesting that my pay and my prestige are absolutely equivalent. My overall average "score" is in the 74th percentile, driven by the degree.

5. Of the results you got in the last question, which one was the biggest surprise and why?
No surprises except that pay = prestige thing

6. READER'S CHOICE QUESTION: What is your favorite article of clothing? Is there a story behind it?
The same as always: a couple of shirts that belonged to my dad because they remind me of him, and wearing them reminds me of his presence.
