We're all familiar with frequent flyer programs. Suppose there was a similar program to reward you for something else you do frequently in your life. What would it be?
The money I could make as a frequent blogger!

Or a frequent reader. Or how about a frequently lazy program?


About ten years ago, we were broke but had a lot of home maintenance to do. Beast spent a lot of time (and money) at the rental store borrowing their tools: post-hole digger, lawn aerator, stud-finder, circuit-checker.... At one point he jokingly suggested he should be a member of their frequent-renter program. He and the owner laughed, and he left with the sawz-all (or whatever). Then next time he went to rent something, he discovered they had instituted that program. For real.

Of course, around this time, I started working (for pay) again, and he started buying some of the tools he used a lot, and we had finished the big-ticket maintenance. I'm not sure he ever actually used the program. But he still stops in there occasionally because they also have a very well-stocked humidor, probably among the best in town.
