Seven Deadly Sins

As Lent, a special time of self-examination and thought about how we live, has just ended, I've decided to make us think about the Seven Deadly Sins

If you were to act out all of the seven deadly sins, what specific things would you do for each of them?

To help you out, I'll list the Sins here:

1. Pride
Oh, I'm already all over this one: selfishness, holier-than-thou-ness, elitism, exclusionism.... No need to go into specifics: this is a holistic thing.

2. Envy
I'd really like a new...uhm...one of whatever THEY have. Except, really, I can't think of anything. OK, I'd really like a jeep. THAT jeep, the one I keep seeing around town. I'd really like to have THAT relationship, the one where everything seems calm and organized and loving and respectful all the time. What I'm seriously envious about is having peace of mind and certainty of purpose.

3. Wrath/Anger
I'm all over this one, too. In fact, the past 5 days I have been doing some major Righteous Anger: I'm not apologizing first, she should call me. I'm angry about so much right now, and in a very scattershot way, that the people at whom I'm not furious constitute a tiny minority. God isn't exactly on my Top Ten Favorites right now either.

4. Sloth
See 1. I'm fabulous at sloth already. Plop onto the couch, kick back the recliner, laptop on legs, TV on...good for the forseeable future, or till my eyes start dribbling on the keyboard.

Looks like another evening meal of Fend (find whatever you want in the fridge or make your own sandwich).

5. Greed
MORE money, MORE TIME!! More love from people, more people telling me how wonderful I am. More is never enough.

6.Gluttony
Fat? Calories? Cholesterol? Sugar? Fuck it--I'm eatin' 'em all, as much as I want. I'll die happy anyway.

7. Lust
I love how this is last on the list. ;-)

Combine 5 and 6 with a far-from-the-kid location. Stir till thoroughly mixed. Wake up exhausted and begin again.
