Thursday Threesome

::Going for the Gold::

Onesome: Going-- out on a limb: are you watching the Olympics? ...obsessed by them? ...or are they just one more reason to watch "Leave it to Beaver" reruns?
We're watching some of the stuff, but we're not glued to the TV. There's been golf and NASCAR on the TV this week, and we watched "Survivor" last night. This is a far cry from the 1990 Winter Olympics when we obsessively taped EVERYthing. Never watched 'em. We still have the tapes; we use them as our "we can't be home for our favorite show" tapes now.
Twosome: for the-- heck of it: what happened in your neck of the woods on Groundhog Day? Are you looking at six more weeks of Winter or is Spring poking its head around the corner?
We had our usual ridiculous celebrations and rehashes and silliness. I didn't participate, as usual, because I think it's retarded. I believe the woodchuck said Spring is Coming, but I really do pay as little attention as possible to the whole rigmarole.
I do like the movie "Groundhog Day" though.
Threesome: Gold-- Golden dreams: did you ever aspire to any sports championships? How about academic ones? How did that work out for you?
Sports: I was on the volleyball team in 7th grade and the basketball team in 9th grade. I broke my finger in basketball. And I never felt like a part of the team since I wasn't exactly fabulous (although I didn't suck, either).
Academics: I did well at school. We didn't have access to Collegiate Bowl kinds of things at my school, but there were about 6 of us constantly competing for the highest grades. 'sAll I'm gonna say.
My most competitive moments in school were in Band. We had a rockin' marching band, and took first or second place in nearly every competition we were in. There is a reunion planned for next summer (2007) for all the band-members directed by Dr. G (or Mr. G, as he was when my brother was at school).
