What was your first job?
Like most girls my age, I babysat from about age 13 until sometime in high school. My first 'real job' was a shelver in the public library.
However, prior to either of those, I was child labor in my parents' household: "cleaning my room" every Saturday (in quotes because it rarely actually got very clean or tidy), vacuuming the steps to the basement monthly, drying and putting away dinner dishes, taking telephone messages for my dad (who worked from home much of the time), cleaning up dog poop before Dad mowed the lawn, and other chores as assigned.

All of which in many ways sounds like the same job I have now....
