Idiosyncrasies
Write down five (or more) of your own personal idiosyncrasies. Then, if you wish, tag five people from your blogroll or friendslist to do the same.
- I'm a cataloger who can't seem to keep things tidy and put away. Ask my husband.
- I tend to be compulsive about chewing on both sides of my mouth. It must be even, so I have evenly worn teeth.
- While in elementary school, I used to walk home very carefully not stepping on cracks in the sidewalk, and always making sure to be next to a parked car whenever a car drove past me.
- I love to buy shoes, but other clothes pretty much bore me, as long as they fit comfortably and don't look patently stupid on me.
- First editions? Collectible books? Who cares? I like to read 'em.
- I used to play solitaire in the bathtub.
- I hate having anything under my fingernails. I clean them obsessively.
- I lose my keys, my shoes, my coat, my wallet, my sunglasses...regularly. And usually I don't notice till I'm running out the door.
- Twenty years ago I was always 10 minutes early to everything. Now, I'm frequently late, which drives me nuts.

- You're in a room with Jesus, the Buddha, Lao Tze, and the Prophet Muhammed. They ask you if you think they made a positive influence in the world. How do you answer, in five words or less?
- If you could end three - and only three - of the world's biggest problems, what would they be?
- In 1945, the United States became the only country to deploy nuclear weapons in a war, destroying two Japanese cities. The justification for this was that a land invasion would've cost possibly two to three times as many lives on both sides. If you were Harry Truman, would you have made the same decision?
- Given only these two choices, would you (a) choose to have an enormously successful sex life and never again fall in love, or (b) fall in love and never again have sex?
- Which one (and only one) of the following would you choose, if you had to choose a lover tomorrow? (a) a person of strong mind but weak will, (b) a person of weak mind but strong willed, or (c) a person of weak mind and will but who is only physically attractive to you? Why?
- Would you lie to someone if you knew the truth would end your friendship/relationship?
- Kindness. Is this a concept that has value (like money or other tangible things) or does it exist as simply emotion? Why?
What kind of weirdo question is this? There is no reason for having people in one's life if there is no kindness between you. So of course it has value. It's not an emotion; it's a way of behaving. It's also tangible. To me, anyway.
