Lies (but no statistics)

from Friday Fiver

1. Do you tend to exaggerate or underestimate?
I tend to exaggerate. Although I frequently underestimate myself. It makes a nice guilt-complex.

2. What is the last "white" lie that you told?
I don't really remember. Probably something to do with how I'm feeling: "Fine." Or, when asked to add something to my full schedule: "No problem."

3. Can you forgive a liar?
Depends entirely on what the context of the lie is/was. And there is a time factor involved. I probably would forgive eventually. But 'eventually' can be long time coming!

4. Do you hold a grudge?
I had a babysitter growing up who always said "Forgive and forget." It bothered me that I could never do the 'forget' part. I do remember being slighted, but I'm not sure that's a grudge unless I react negatively in response. And again, it depends on the context of the situation.

5. What's the biggest lie you've ever told?
The first one that springs to mind is when I was in college, I told my folks that I was going to Italy for 10 days with another girl instead of a guy. I suspect now that they knew. Or at least they figured it out later. I'm sure there've been some doozies since them, but I'd prefer not to go there this morning.
