Onesome: Mountains-- What is the elevation where you live? Do you like it there or would you prefer something a little different?
I think I'm pretty much at sea level. Yup, just checked: we are 942 feet above sea level. It's not a big deal in this part of the country. Where I grew up, the city limit signs all have the elevation listed along with the name and population of the city.Twosome: Valleys-- When you travel, do you have any particular valley or area you like to pass through on the way from here to there? ...and is there any route you'll take just for the scenery even if it's just a tad longer or more out of the way?
In case you've missed it before, I'll say it again: I really would love to move back 'home.' But I also would like my husband to have a job, which he would have difficulty doing in Colorado.
Funny this should come up this week. I drive along Kis... Valley Road to get to cataloging meetings, etc.; it just dawned on me that it's a honking wide flat valley--about 30 miles every direction. To me, that's a plain, not a valley.Threesome: and Streams-- Do you have a stream you like to walk along and just think and enjoy the view? How about a netaphorical one if you don't have a real one close by?
I do like the drive to Galena; there are lots of hills and valleys in that area.
My favorite valley, though, is the Uncompahgre River Valley. I've hiked a lot of it.
The Uncompahgre:
The Swale:
The Thames:
The Arno:
sigh. I'd love to be by ANY warm river today.
