Patrick's Place

(Link in blogroll)
Saturday 6

1. How many members of your family not living with you did you see on Christmas Day?
Three plus one good friend, making 7 people total.
2. When spending time with family, how long after you arrive do you begin to feel "antsy" about being there too long?
They came here. I was fine with everyone staying until just before my niece and nephew left when she went completely off the rails and her inner bitch popped out. When we're out someone else, I usually am ready to leave by 8 or 9, especially if there is a lot of driving to do. Really, I usually am ready to leave about 2 hours before Beast.
3. Is your family more likely to have pleasant discussions or heated arguments during a big meal? Do you join in or quietly listen in?
We try to keep it pleasant. I no longer seem to be able to quietly listen.
4. Take the quiz: How Do You Really Feel About Your Family?
You Feel at Peace With Your Family
You are very quick to forgive your family for wrongdoings. You don't expect them to be perfect, and you try to help them out whenever it's possible.

You feel like your family is prone to too many arguments and instability. You never feel like things can be completely peaceful.

While your parents made mistakes, you forgive them and accept them for who they are.

You are honest and very outspoken with your family. You sometimes hurt feelings by saying things they don't want to hear.
A bit of a mixed bag there, but nothing too wrong, except for that first part.
5. Consider the family member whose views are most opposite of your own: If your friends or co-workers met the person, what single topic would probably be the source of the most embarrassment for you if your friends heard that person talking?
My mom has issues with certain ethnicities and sexual preferences, but since her speech is completly not understandable, it's not likely to be a problem, even assuming any of my current friends were to meet her. Which they are not. I hadn't ever thought of that, but Jenny's the only current friend who has ever met my mom, and no one else is going to, since she's pretty much homebound in another state far from here.
6. Did you get everything you wanted for Christmas? What one thing that you didn’t get would you like to have received?
In terms of gifts, it's a home run. I'd like Katherine to be a little further down the road of improved behavior. Otherwise, things are good.
