Sunday Stealing

(Link in meme-roll)
TV Meme, part one

1. TV Theme songs. Which is your favorite, and which makes you crazy enough to hit mute on the remote?
My favorite over all time is the theme from M*A*S*H. I do like the CSI theme songs, though I've never been a Who fan in particular; they seem to fit really well with the show. Worst themes? Almost every 'straight' (as in traditional) sitcom ever, except Friends  and Cheers, but those were actual, y'know, SONGS. Clearly, I'm not a fan of be-doopy-doop-doop jingly shit a la Seinfeld.
2. The Classics. What is your favorite Classic TV show?
What makes a show "Classic"? Being in black and white? Being available only outside of prime-time? I liked Gilligan's Island and Bewitched. The second Lucille Ball show was a favorite too--not the early one, but the one she did later, without Desi.
3. What character from a Classic TV show would you like to be?
Samantha Stevens. She's about the only woman on any old show I'm interested in; women didn't have super-duper roles. I watched Season 1 of Emergency! a year or so ago, and nearly cried at the pathetic scenes Julie London (Nurse Dixie McCall) had to play. smh I always looked up to her as a child, but holy-shit she's a complete patsy!
4. Can you remember a line you liked from a Classic TV show?
"SAMANTHA!!!" Dick York's face, omg, gets me EVERY time.
5. Heroes. What show featuring those who protect your country (fiction or non-fiction) is your favorite?
Gotta say, still Emergency! but I've liked cop shows for many years. M*A*S*H, of course, too.
6. TV Cops. Who is your favorite (past or present) TV cop? Which TV cop do you think was the most crooked, or the most inept?
Olivia Benson FTW!! She is just awesome. I liked Chris Cagney and Mary Beth Lacey too. I can't think of a bad cop--I don't watch anti-hero shows too often.
7. You need to hire a bodyguard for yourself. Which TV cop do you choose?
Gibbs. In my dreams.
8. TV Doctors. Which TV doctor would you choose to remove your appendix? Which TV doctor would you not let touch you with a 10- foot pole?
Mark Green. For eye candy reasons, Luka Kovac. Worst doctor? I can't think of any bad doctors, but I don't think Kelly Brackett had the best bedside manner.
9. TV Moms. Which TV mom would you have liked to have had for your own? Is there a TV mom you would never want as your own?
Back to Samantha, please. Or Caroline Ingalls. I would've hated to live with Harriet Oleson or Roseanne.
10. TV Dads. Which TV Dad would you have most liked to have for your own dad? On the flipside, who was the TV Dad you’d have least liked to have had?
Well, Charles Ingalls would have been ok. I can't think of any bad dads, although Tim Taylor would have been...interesting.
11. Comedies. How do you feel about sitcoms? Good, wholesome fun or saccharine inanity?
Used to watch a lot of them. Haven't seen one episode of any sitcom (by choice) in close to a decade. I hate laugh tracks, and I really need a plot, please, a new one for each episode.
12. If your life was a sitcom, what would the title be?
I don't know. Some play on libraries or books, probably.
13. If you went to a comedy club on amateur night, and they gave you some jokes and a microphone, would you go onstage?
Nope. It's not about "some jokes" it's about knowing the material and working the crowd and timing.
14. Reality. Are you a fan of Reality TV? What’s your “can’t miss” reality TV show (or shows), or what reality TV show do you suppose the devil plays on the TV in Hell as punishment?
I used to LIVE for The Real World for the first few seasons. I liked Road Rules early on as well. Then they turned into soft-core porn, and I stopped watching both. I haven't chosen to watch reality TV since I stopped watching Survivor and The Amazing Race a few years ago. I really like the "social experiment" part of reality TV, but so often it turns into narcissism and stupid drama, because that's apparently what sells.
15. If you were given a free ticket to be on any reality show, which one would you choose?
I would NOT. I'm absolutely not dramatic enough; see above.
While I could link to all of these shows and characters on IMdB, I'm going to assume you either know them or can do the Googling yourself.

Gibbs is a most yummy choice.

I'm with you about the first few years of The Real World, that was some compelling stuff. When it started being about drinking and sex, I stopped watching.

Hm. We have a couple of similar answers, 'though we seem to have the opposite opinions of Tim the Tool Man Taylor. :)

Scrivener, I grew up with the opposite-in-every-way dad from Tim Taylor, so while I love Tim Allen, and enjoyed that show generally, as a dad....no thanks.
