Yep.
Well. Since they chose me, I'd better get on the stick, eh?
::Against All Odds::
Onesome- Against: Is there anything you are vehemently opposed to? Or just something that gets you up on your soapbox?
Taking a page from Amy, I'll be composing a list:Twosome- All: Is there something that you have to give all or nothing to?But generally I'm pretty easy-going.
- Bush (the President, not the band--and I like Kate just fine thanks!)
- Terrorism
- Having said that.....people who are always right
- People who play games--really, really, really hate that. I'm with Dr. Seuss: "Say what you mean and mean what you say."
- Rude people
- Mean people
- Anyone who messes with my family
- Liver. With or without onions
- Tomatoes. Unless they are sauced
- Caviar. Oysters. Generally, anything slimy
- Opera. Except the good stuff. Yes, I know how stupid that sounds.
- Noise for the purpose of noise only (except Harleys)
- People who don't read, especially those who don't read to their kids
- People who don't deal with their kids (in terms of disciplining them appropriately)
- Pantyhose. Pointy-toed shoes. Makeup. Rayon.
- Publishers, for a mulitude of their sins
I tend to be an all-or-nothing person about everything. Much to my emotional detriment.Threesome- Odds: Are you a gambler? What would you bet on and for how much?
I don't gamble often because I suspect an addictive personality lurking in my psyche (see above--#2). On occasion, I have bet on dog and horse races and won enough to scare me. I have done some slots and lost most of the time on those, which pisses me off and makes me want to bet more just to show 'em who's boss. And I bet on poker, but only chips.

1. How many hours on average do you get daily and is it enough?
1. How many hours on average do you get daily and is it enough?
Average weekly total: about 45. I used to think I needed 8-straight, but have discovered that 5 is workable. At least on day one...the next day I'm not quite together, but functional. I can survive on 5/night for about a week before I get unbearable.2. Can you sleep anywhere or does it have to be in a bed?
I have a long history of sleeping elsewhere: couches, futons, floors, chairs...airport lounges, living rooms, kitchens, boats... But I prefer my bed.3. When you go to sleep, does it you need to be absolutely quiet or do you need a little noise (radio or TV)?
Not just quiet, but silent or I can't get to sleep; I now wear earplugs because The Beast snores. Once I'm asleep I'm good for the night, though.4. Name two things/situations that can ruin your sleep:
1. Wrong temperature: cold feet, cold ears, warm legs, etc.5. Name two things you "must have" in order to sleep comfortably:
2.Worrying.
I can even sleep after 2 cans of Dr. Pepper in the evening, but usually wake up (or get up anyway) and pee around 3 a.m., which I never used to need to do.
1. Blanket up to my ears, completely covering me, even in the summer.
2. Security.

Last meme of the day. I promise
You are Melancholy. Melancholics are often gifted, even prone to genius. You are deep and thoughtful, but this can lead to your being too introspective, to the point of moodiness and depression when you find flaws within your self. You strive for perfection in all things, most especially your self and your immediate world. You are sensitive to the needs of others, and loyal to your friends, but can be
hard to please. Melancholics do well in the arts, science, and math.

Now BACK TO WORK!!
Now I know...
You're an agitator! Your kids have grown up on the front lines of rallies and pickets, and chances are that you boycott at least one company for its bad business practices. Your kids are learning what matters to you and how they can change what matters to them.
What kind of a freaky mother are you?

Er, what I'd like to say is that this is 100% accurate. However, that would be about 90% inaccurate. Oh well. I like the picture...
Madonna song...
You are POWER OF GOODBYE..... You're sappy and sentimental, but very observant of human behavior. You're logical, but your heart takes over your head sometimes. Take some advice, go have a holiday and cheer up!

Uh, right. Too bad I don't think I've ever heard this song.
Which medieval plague am I?
Congratulations! You have St. Anthony's Fire! Today known Ergotism, this illness is caught through ingestion of a fungal infection of grain, usually rye. If you are not already, yousoom are going to be suffering from dizziness, hallucinations, and a sensation of burning in the limbs, thus giving the disease its name. It could result in gangrene. The good news: there is a 60% chance you will survive it! The bad news: you will wish you had not. You will have lingering symptoms for the rest of your life, including mental impairment and being more susceptible to it in the future rather than having immunity. You probably live in a rural town undergoing a very wet winter to have caught this skin-reddening sickness.

Hump Day
Courtesy BDI of course.
"Hola, Humpolas. This week Hump Day is also Latin American Independence Day which commemorates Latin America's independence from Spain in 1821. However ... since we are a crazy bunch and everything we do is to the beat of a different bongo we're not going to celebrate today or tomorrow (which is Mayflower Day). Instead, we're going to celebrate yesterday. That's right, we're going to celebrate yesterday. Why? Because we're all about sharing the love and yesterday was "Hug A Crabby Stranger Day." No silly, NOT "Hump A Crabby Stranger" ... "Hug A Crabby Stranger" Humping a stranger would have a constable knocking on your door with a Restraining Order.

Thursday Threesome
Onesome: Ripped-- Ripped and torn asunder? Do you have a memorable "ripped clothing" moment in your life? No? How about in someone else's? Come on, you know you have something to contribute!
I don't remember any wardrobe malfunctions of my own. I stain a lot of clothes: ink, food, drink. Nothing outrageously embarr ...... oooh, yeah. Remember those stretchy tube-top-meets-peasant-skirt-dresses from the late 70s? When maxi-skirts were hip? I begged and pleaded for one of those and eventually got one, for Easter, when I was around 13. First time I wore it was to church, and we parked in the lower lot. I had to walk up several outdoor stairs to get into the building and in the process stepped on the front hem, pulling the whole dress down about 6 inches on that side.Twosome: from the-- From the archives: What's changed on your website over the last year? ...a redo? ...a change of pace? ...or is it still business as usual?
My very own Janet Jackson moment. Never liked that dress after that. Mom couldnt' understand why... (she missed the whole thing and I never told her) The sad thing is I had nothing to hold it up then (nor would I do better now!). sigh...
Much has changed--I've only blogged since February. I'm changing the subtitle/description soon. Not sure what that entails as yet. Still cogitating.Threesome: Headlines-- Are you a Headline Nazi? I mean, do you ever look at a headline and ask yourself, "What were they thinking?" ...or, "What are they trying to say?" Then again, do you have a favorite headline that you'll always remember?
Yeah, I wonder about headlines in the paper a lot. But I do understand that they are frequently written in a hurry by the editors, who may not have read the whole article. If the reporter didn't get the W's into the top 'graph, the editor has no chance of getting a decent headline.
Having said all that, my favorite is about the "Enola Homosexual" pilot-reunion in this paper several years ago. Think on it long enough and you'll get it. (They deep-sixed the automatic Political Correctness spell-checker/-changer soon thereafter, I'm sure.)

This week, some "getting to know you" fun with a a few crazy twists.
01. Can you remember where you were in life ten years ago? If you could travel back in time and whisper something to yourself ten years ago, what would it be?
This week, some "getting to know you" fun with a a few crazy twists.
01. Can you remember where you were in life ten years ago? If you could travel back in time and whisper something to yourself ten years ago, what would it be?
Let's see...I had just quit my Job from Hell in the spring and moved about 100 miles south into another state, turning into a stay-at-home mom of a 16-month-old. I think by now we were in full playgroup swing with FEMALE, and we were realizing the cost of living was higher than where we used to live, so my income (really, my LACK of it) was somewhat problematic. I hated the house we lived in...and continued to hate it until we moved out last year. My sister had just found out that she was terminal, and Mom & Dad were moving out of my childhood home.02. You inherit a large piece of land and decide to build a theme park a la "Disneyland, Sea World, etc.) What would you name your theme park and what would your mascot be?
What would I have told myself? "Go help Lois out, be with her, she's dying, for God's sake. Do something about those kids to keep them in our family, not drifting." "Take Mom to the doctor and get her some treatment for the stroke." "Hug Dad, and take more pictures of him when you go help them move next month!"
Yeah, that's likely to happen...NOT!03. Okay, let's have it! What's the craziest, most impulsive thing you've ever done. Remember, we have insane youngsters amongst us so if it's risque, clean it up.. *wink*
OK, in the unlikely event of me losing my mind and doing this, how about Library Land, where everyone is reading and/or writing, asking difficult but interesting questions of the staff, researching, and BEING QUIET! Not sure we'd need a mascot; they seem to be a little sub-par for the crowd we'd be drawing. There would be lots of comfortable places to sit and read, not just for kids! It would never be crowded, and everyone would have to put their materials away in the right place before leaving!
Sorry to say I didn't have to clean it up....04. We all have them ... bad days. If you were having a bad day what or whom would you turn to for comfort?
Going to the Soviet Union in January 1985 for 4 weeks, along with a week spent in Beijing for added comfort. I was terrified the entire semester before leaving, and the plane trip to Moscow was the scariest flight because I was so nervous.
I had a blast.
First answer: God05. According to the song White Rabbit, "one pill makes you larger and one pill makes you small". If you were offered these pills today, which pill would you take and why?
First person: The Beast, or possible Sparky
First non-person: Books, and/or maybe a blog
Can't I have one of each? One to make my hips/thighs/stomach smaller, one to make my attention span larger?

20 Questions to a Better Relationship
My results:
eXpressive: 3/10
Practical: 5/10
Physical: 5/10
Giver: 2/10
You are a RPYT--Reserved Practical Physical Taker. This makes you a Stoic. You are intelligent, rugged, disciplined and profound. Even if you're saddled with a desk job, you are starving for the outdoors. You are very slow to warm up to people, and people are slow to warm up to you, but once they know you they never forget you. You do not get much attention from your target sex, and this means you can feel unloved or unwanted. This is not the case! You are just a hard nut to crack, and your social anxiety leaves you overlooked or outside the frame altogether. What is good for you is increments of low-interaction group activity, like sports or outdoor work. The person who can chop wood with you will melt your heart. In a long term relationship, you are loving and devoted. You are calm in a conflict until your partner presses your buttons -- it's never the problem at hand that gets under your skin, but how your partner handles it. Don't take offense! Sometimes it's just the only way your partner knows how to express things. You would never cheat, and your approach to sex is conventional and almost prudish. But sex for you is a release and a necessity of life, and you have a sense of entitlement about it that can be trouble. Make sure your partner is comfortable and satisfied -- by communicating both in and out of the bedroom -- and you will be more satisfied yourself. You may take a lot of what your partner does for granted. Make a special effort to reward and validate him/her, and you will be repaid in spades. You have nice legs.
Of the 56860 people who have taken this quiz, 4.3 % are this type.
Some of this is so right-on it's scary. Some of it is totally wrong. Some is close-enough. You'all get to guess which is which. I especially like the "nice legs" comment in view of the purple/green/blue/black/red splotches on them right now! ;-)

What kind of garden am I?

You are a municipal garden! Iron-gated plot of land between tall buildings, you are a fleeting moment of serene grass and benches. You are lucky somebody once planted a few daffodils around your trees. You may enjoy gardens, but generally you are too busy to tend them. You are smart and sophisticated, a bit racy, and fun to be with.
What sort of garden are you?

::Three Ring Circus::
::Three Ring Circus::
Onesome : Three- What do you think the T3 should be next week? Just toss three words together; we'll do the rest! *g*
Here's a book sitting on The Beast's desk next to the PC: Against All Enemies. If you wanted to stay out of politics...How about "against all odds"? And following that train of thought, how about "What happens here stays here"?
Twosome : Ring- Are you a jewellery person? Is there any one item you wear every single day? Do you have any piercings? Where are they and did they hurt?
Jewelry: I wear three rings all the time. Over 90% of the time I have one set of earrings in, and that's the only piercings I've got. They didn't hurt much, but that was 25 years ago, so time may be dulling my memory. I have worn my wedding ring/engagement ring every day (except in the hospital) since I got married 18 years ago. Granted, they aren't the same rings as they were 18 years ago, but you get the point.
Threesome : Circus - Do you like the circus? What's your favorite act? Or is your life enough of a circus for you?
I love the circus! The whole thing: animals, clowns, "death-defying feats," etc. Not very PC at all. I think this adoration springs from having only been to the circus once as a child, and just three times in my life. So deprived. heh
On the other hand, my life is a circus [some days]. Maybe that's why I relate to the Big Top...?
